Molly Jenson CD Promo Page

From Molly's Facebook page:

Imagine if you hadn't truly planned on being a solo singer/songwriter, and then suddenly one day, you find yourself in the spotlight. Imagine never expecting to record an album, then one day you have one, and people even want to buy it. While this is a dream for most aspiring musicians, Molly Jenson never dreamed this could happen to her. It all began when San Diego singer-songwriter/producer Greg Laswell offered to co-write and produce Jenson's first record. Greg and Molly worked remarkably well together, and on March 3rd 2009, she released her debut album, "Maybe Tomorrow". You could easily equate "Maybe Tomorrow" to the work of Jonatha Brooke, Sheryl Crow and Aimee Mann, however, Molly is much more than an ectype. Behind Jenson's heartfelt songs is an unfeigned artist, who is not afraid to reach out to an audience and let them know that she is tangible. It's evident that her songs are purely based on her own life. Her ingenuous lyrics entail stories of love and loss, hardships and better days. Beyond that, Molly's incredible vocal ability sets her apart from other female artists, and she does it with such ease. Molly started by playing at local venues, and very quickly developed an audience. She has performed throughout California and the West Coast, and plans to tour more of the United States. In 2008, Japan and London embraced Molly for the first time. The experience added an overseas fanbase, and gave her the desire to continue to play her music around the world. Jenson has shared the stage with many other talented artists, such as Jon Foreman (of Switchfoot), Fiction Family, Tristan Prettyman, Greg Laswell, Ben Taylor, Schuyler Fisk, Anya Marina, Rhett Miller (of Old 97s), and Jonatha Brooke. She loves to interact with the audience, and she makes it a point to have every performance be thoroughly entertaining and intimate, no matter how big or small the crowd. Her candidness and humor brings her close to her audience in a very unique way, and we can safely say that no matter how far this star rises, she will always keep her feet on the ground. Jenson has been in the music scene for only a few years, but she already has much to brag about. Molly was a nominee at the 2006 San Diego Music Awards for "Best Pop", and she took home an award for "Best Acoustic Act" at the 2007 San Diego Music Awards, which was voted by the public. Relevant Magazine compared her to Mazzy Star and Leona Naess, and in April of 2007, Teen Vogue Magazine named her "One of the three best new artists on MySpace". Additionally, she has been featured .. Magazine's 'Culture Club Podcast', and KGRL named her "Artist of the Month" for March of 2008. Molly has also graced the cover of Risen Magazine's March '09 edition. You may have heard some of Molly's music on television, as her song "Wait For You Here" was used in the premier of NBC's "Knight Rider", and her single "Give It Time" was featured on the hit CW show, "Privileged". She also made her debut at the Sundance Film Festival in January of 2008. Most recently, Molly was nominated for a 2009 Orange County Music Award for "Best Pop". She still has several dreams she's yet to conquer, one of which is being a guest musician on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and The Bonnie Hunt Show. Ellen and/or Bonnie, if you're reading, you might want to hurry, because Molly's dance card is filling up fast. In 2008, Molly signed a record deal with Bully!Pulpit/Nettwerk Music Group. In addition to upcoming tours supporting the "Maybe Tomorrow" release, Molly is already working on her Sophmore album with Greg Laswell. Fans of "Maybe Tomorrow" can rest assured that her upcoming work will be just as sublime. Molly pours passion, dedication, and creativity into all that she does. She remains closely connected with her supporters, and is continuously sharing the stage and collaborating with great musicians. Keep your ears and eyes open for more of her in the future.
